People who choose to become permanent residents because they are skilled in a skilled trade will apply for the Federal Skilled worker Class.

For each language skill, meet the necessary levels in English or French (speaking, reading, writing and listening),
In the five years prior to applying, you must have at least two years of full-time work experience (or an equivalent amount of part-time work experience) in a professional profession.
Except for the requirement of a certificate of competence, meet the work specifications for that professional trade as outlined in the National Occupational Classification (NOC), and
Have a full-time job offer for at least one year or a certificate of competence in that professional trade granted by a Canadian provincial or territorial government
You must expect to live outside of Quebec's borders.
Skilled work experience
The following large and minor classes of the NOC coordinate the skilled trades that are currently qualified for the Federal Skilled Trades Program:
Industrial, electrical, and construction trades, Major Group 72
Maintenance and equipment operations, Major Group 73
Supervisors and technical occupation in natural resources, agriculture, and related production, Major Group 82
Supervisors and central control operators in Major Group 92, processing, production, and utilities
