Canada is well-known for its high educational and living standards, and it is the most popular destination for international students looking to further their education and build a career. Every year, more than 100,000 students come to Canada to study and discover exciting job opportunities.
The International Student Program has undergone several changes at Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Students will now work part-time (up to 20 hours a week) without a work permit under the new regulations. It provides students with the opportunity to learn about Canada and its history. It also gives students the option of working on or off campus.
The following conditions must be met in order to receive a student visa:
Accepted into a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
Proof of financial support for your education as well as proof of residence in Canada for the duration of your studies.
Check your English skills (IELTS, TOEFL etc.)
If necessary, be able to obtain a police clearance certificate.
You must be physically fit and have medical documentation.
Promise to leave Canada once your schooling is completed.
The student holds a Graduate Work Permit for a minimum of one to a maximum of three years after successfully completing the programme of study.
After completing their studies, students may apply to become a permanent resident of Canada.
