Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident (TR to PR)
TR to PR is a temporary public policy pathway that permits some temporary residents who are currently working in Canada, as well as their families, to apply for permanent residence for a limited period of time.
The temporary resident to permanent resident pathway is a limited-time option for obtaining permanent residency. It is for select temporary residents and their families who are currently working in Canada.
Eligibility
At the time of application, applicants must be residing and working in Canada.
To avoid application delays, the IRCC suggests that candidates pay the obligatory right of permanent residence fee (CAN$500) in advance.
The eligibility requirements differ depending on the stream for which the candidate is applying.
Requirements for biometrics (fingerprints and photos)
Applicants and their family members aged 14 to 79 may be required to come in person at a biometric collection service station to have their fingerprints and photos (biometric information) captured.
Who is eligible to apply for the Healthcare/Essential Worker programme?
Currently employed and residing in Canada.
Possess legal status in Canada.
Each band should have at least one CLB 4 language (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing).
Have at least one year of qualified work experience (1560 hours) in the previous three years and be employed in Canada when you apply.
Plan to live somewhere other than Quebec.
Being a refugee claimant in Canada is not an option.
